I think I understand what you're trying to say. "Deal with it or hit the pike" is rather harsh. While I understand what the poster has to say and share that view, in a way, I would never say it like that. I prefer to think of it as if a guy has a problem with my past, perhaps he's not the one for me and I should find someone else. This approach is not insulting to the guy who has an issue with my past but accepting that perhaps he has different values which are not compatible with my own. And that's ok. Everyone is different.
