Nursing Degree? Is it okay to start off at a junior college and transfer?

I'm a senior in high school, and my high school grades weren't the best, but I took honors and AP cles. I only I got into a few UCs and Cal States(state CA). I also did not volunteer or do any work experience having to do with nursing during high school. I want to pursue a career in Nursing though. Is it okay if I start off at a junior college, get like a 2 year ociate's degree in Nursing, and then transfer to another university to get a bachelor's degree in Nursing Sciences or whatevers? I was thinking, if I work hard at the junior college then transfer it would be okay, but I'm also afraid of not being able to fulfill my goal of becoming a nurse. Anyone have any advice or experiences that would help me with my decision? D:
